Watch on
Even before the official weigh-ins for FNC 32 powered by SuperSport in Osijek began, it was clear that Vladimir Šikić would not be able to make weight. When he finally stepped on the scales, he was nowhere near the lightweight limit of 70.8 kg. The scale showed 75.5 kg, meaning he came in 4.7 kg overweight. Despite this, Filip Pejić and his team agreed to accept the fight under specific conditions.
However, shortly after the weigh-ins, Šikić violated the agreed terms, making it impossible for the main event to proceed. As a result, the Pejić vs. Šikić bout has been cancelled.
The German fighter displayed a high level of unprofessionalism by failing to comply not only with the original requirements but also with the conditions agreed upon after the weigh-ins. Due to concerns for Filip Pejić’s safety, as well as the overall competitive integrity of the contest given the significant weight disparity that would have existed inside the cage, the fight could not go ahead.
As a consequence, Vladimir Šikić has been released from FNC with immediate effect. He will not compete at FNC 32 powered by SuperSport, nor will he appear at future FNC events. The new main event of the evening will feature two former UFC fighters in a high-level light heavyweight clash: Tom Breese vs. Marcin Prachnio.
