FNC 13 Belgrade: Joksović defends title, 'Croata' submitted Vaso

The biggest regional rematch ended with a victory for the Argentine-Croatian fighter, and the welterweight champion successfully defended his title

After winning the title in Pula in September against Marko Kisič (30, 8-4), Nikola Joksović (29, 13-1) defended the welterweight title on his home turf for the first time, choking out Savo Lazić (34, 11-7) in the second round in the main event of the FNC 13 event in Belgrade. In front of about 7000 people in the Pionir Arena, packed to the last seat, we witnessed nine outstanding fights.

Croata' choked out Vaso, Bojković impressed everyone

The frenzy in the arena continued when Marko Bojković (22, 5-0) entered the cage and celebrated a powerful victory against Lucas Ananias (27, 15-6) with a rear-naked choke in the first round. Despite the loud crowd, Vaso Bakočević (34, 43-24-1) couldn't defeat Francisco Albano Barrio (34, 12-3), who choked him out in the second round after two points were deducted from the Montenegrin fighter. After the match, regional MMA legend Dušan Džakić (36, 23-11) called out 'Croata' for the fight.

Despite falling short by 1.6 kilograms on the scale, Ognjen Babić (22, 5-0) entered the cage full of motivation and choked out French fighter Axel Nobou (26, 3-2) with an excellent performance. The winning streak of Serbian fighters continued with Jovan Marjanović (26, 8-2), who won by low kick in the second round against Ivica 'Terror' Trušček (40, 42-39).

Young lions impressed from the start, Spasić finished the opening part excellently.

Two young men, Fran Luka Đurić (19, 4-2) and Boris Stanić (21, 2-1), opened the evening superbly, and after three excellent rounds, the Croatian fighter managed to win by technical knockout even though he jumped into the match only five days before the event. The same tone continued in the second match. Aleksandar Vukosavljević (30, 1-0) showed dominance in striking, while Miladin Kolarski (28, 6-7) had a chance in the first round, but couldn't capitalize on it, and 'Mlata' sealed the victory on his professional debut.

Montenegrin fighter Blažo Nikolić (24, 4-0) made an excellent debut in FNC with dominance in three rounds, ultimately finishing the story against the winner of the fourth season of 'Armagedon' in the lightweight category with an arm-triangle, forcing Dino Suljkanović (24, 2-1) to surrender. The end of the opening part of the evening was rounded off by the local favorite Marina Spasić (29, 3-0), who won by technical knockout in the second round against Samin Kamal Beik (34, 6-5).
