The fighter from Zagreb is set for his second title defense

The audience has been eagerly awaiting the next fight for middleweight champion Đani Barbir (29, 7-0), and now they will have the chance to see him in action at the Ahilej FNC 23 powered by Meridianbet event in Belgrade’s Arena! His title challenger will be a new face in the organization, the seasoned Polish fighter Piotr Strus (36, 16-9-2).
Đani was supposed to defend his title at Zagreb’s Arena against Tomislav 'The Beast' Spahović (35, 10-8), but the Bosnian fighter failed to make weight, so the bout took place at a 90 kg catchweight. Even under these conditions, Barbir won by submission in the first round. This time, he will face a fighter with experience from Russia and the top European organizations.

Strus has fought many well-known names, including Cezary Oleksiejczuk (25, 15-3), KSW light heavyweight champion Rafał Haratyk (37, 20-5-2), and former light heavyweight champion Ibragim Chuzhigaev (33, 19-5). He has gone through tough rounds with all of them. The majority of his career fights - 14 in total - have gone to a judges’ decision, making it clear that he is a "tough nut to crack."
